ABOUT THE BAND

The Small Strings is a band comprising numerous ukulele players, a rhythm section of bass and cajon, and a number of vocalists. The band, led by Dave Stewart, meets weekly in Reading, learning new playing skills, fine-tuning its repertoire, and,  most of all, having a ton of fun. 

The band was originally formed in 2012 by Rob Gilmour, after a ukulele beginners' course at Readipop led to the participants having such fun that they forgot to stop. 

The band loves to play gigs at events and festivals (beer festivals are the best!). Please do contact us about performing at your event or venue.
